WCW Monday Nitro
July 3, 2006
Chicago, IL
United Center
Red, white & blue fireworks fill the top of the arena as Tony Schiavone, "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko & guest commentator Diamond Dallas Page welcome us to WCW Monday Nitro. We are live in Chicago, IL at the sold-out United Center. It's another big event as WCW Beach Blast is just six days ago. What will happen tonight?
Music hits and here comes Hulk Hogan to the ring. He has Nick Hogan with him and Hulk gets the mic. He wants Luger right now! He wants the Giant! He wants Booker T. Last week, they tried to put him out and it didn't work. He thought Luger was his partner and Luger showed his true colors like a yellow snake. Hogan rants for a bit as we see the video from last week. We see Luger leave the ring to save Nick from Sharmell & Joel Gertner. Booker & The Giant take advantage and choke slam Hogan to the mat, with Giant getting the pin. Hogan and Lex argue about "where was Luger" and Lex leaves the ring. Booker & Giant attack Hogan again and finally, Lex makes the save. Lex stands over Hogan and puts him in the torture rack to end the show.
Here comes WCW Owner Eric Bischoff to the rampway. He doesn't care what Hogan wants. Eric is the boss and Hogan listens to him. He has an announcement to make. The main event for the upcoming Beach Blast PPV in six days will be... for the WCW World Championship - Champion Sean O'Haire defending the title in a triple-threat match.. as he faces Booker T w/ Sharmell... and "The Total Package" Lex Luger..
Hogan interupts. Luger turns on him and gets a title shot. Hogan wants to know what kind of game Eric is playing here. Eric says that Luger didn't "turn on Hulk" - he made a smart business decision. But now, Eric has something for Hogan... at the PPV, Hulk is wrestling in a match. It's "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan versus "The Giant" Paul Wight. And if Hogan wins the match - he gets a match against Luger on the following Monday Nitro... but if he loses, Hogan has to grant Bischoff temporary custody of Nick Hogan for 30 days...
Hogan is beside himself with anger. Nick is not part of the plan. Hogan will not agree to that. Nick gets the mic. He knows that his dad can beat the Giant and he wants to see his dad kick Luger's ass. Nick isn't worried.. Hogan says "No!", but Nick says that "Yeah, we agree to the match, Bischoff!".. Hogan says that Nick is a minor and that doesn't count, but Eric is all smiles and says that it's a deal. It's Hogan versus the Giant at Beach Blast. If Hogan wins, he gets the match of his choice against Lex Luger on Nitro the next night. But if Giant wins, Eric gets custody of Nick for 30 days.. Hogan is shaking his head no and arguing - Nick is trying to convince him that it's OK - he knows the risks - when the Giant comes up from behind Hogan from through the crowd and grabs Hogan from behind - a big headbutt and Giant chokeslams Hogan to the mat. Nick runs to covers his father as Joel Gertner climbs into the ring beside Giant and raises his arm. We see Bischoff on the rampway, as well as Giant & Gertner in the ring laughing as Nick covers his father, a tearful expression in his face..

We come back and immediately go to David Penzer for the first match.
WCW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT - ROUND 2
EVAN KARAGIAS w/ Jimmy Valiant versus RENE DUPREE
A quick paced match that sees Evan take the early advantage with armdrags and a picture perfect dropkick for two. Dupree kicks out and plants Karagias with a series of knees and a suplex. Neckbreaker by Dupree and he gets two. Kicks and stomps by Rene and it's time for the "French Tickler". As Rene dances, we see Jimmy Valiant move around to ringside to give Karagias a pep talk and we see Valiant slip something into Evan's hand. Dupree is over and picks up Evan for a suplex, but Karagias blasts Dupree with whatever it was Valiant handed him. Evan tosses the object out of the ring, where Valiant quickly picks it up and hides it in his jacket. Karagias climbs the ropes and hits a 480 Moonsault on Dupree to pick up the pin.
WINNER: EVAN KARAGIAS w/ Jimmy Valiant
We go backstage where Terri Runnels is standing by with the WCW World Champion, Sean O'Haire. O'Haire talks about his upcoming match at Beach Blast. He's defending his WCW World Title against two of the legends of WCW - "The Total Package" Lex Luger and the Five-Time Former WCW Champion, Booker T. If Lex & Booker are on the same page, it might be a long night for O'Haire. This is probably his biggest test since becoming champion. But he's ready for anything. He's a Horseman and he's the World Champion.. and he's ready, willing and able to do whatever it takes to make sure that doens't change anytime soon.
As O'Haire walks off, Ivory walks up and gets in Terri Runnels face. She asks Terri if she learned her lesson last week to stay away from Ivory's man, Juventud. Terri says that she doesn't want Juvi and the only thing she learned last week was that Ivory has turned into a first class bitch. Ivory grabs Terri by the shirt collar and begins screaming at her when Jeff Hardy steps into the picture. Ivory quickly lets go of Terri and backs off, telling Terri that "it's not over yet, skank!". Jeff puts his arm around Terri to console her and says that Ivory is right - it's not over...but it will be on Sunday. Jeff just came from the office of Eric Bschoff and later tonight, it will be a mixed tag team match as Jeff & Terri are taking on Ivory and Juvi. Jeff says that he doesn't know what's causing Juvi & Ivory to be such assclowns lately, but at the PPV, maybe he and Terri can beat it out of them. Terri doesn't look very excited at the prospect of the match, but Jeff tells her that he's seen her scrap before and they've got it under control. Let's go talk. Terri & Jeff walk off together as we go to commercial.

WCW TV TITLE TOURNAMENT - ROUND 2
KANYON versus MIKE YOUNGBLOOD
Page is still at ringside on commentary as referee Parker Paige signals for the bell. Youngblood is all over Kanyon to start with chops and a big slam. Kanyon fights back with a kick and a DDT for two. Kanyon with a series of kicks and punches, but Youngblod reverses a whip into the corner and levels Kanyon with a huge chop. Suplex by Youngblood and he goes up for the big elbow from the top. Page is up and pushes Youngblood to the mat before he can launch. Kanyon covers Youngblood, but Mike manages to roll a shoulder up and kick out at two. Kanyon signals Page that he's got it under control and goes for the Diamond Cutter, but we see Youngblood with a counter at the last second and he flattens Kanyon with a face-buster. Youngblood covers Kanyon, but we see Page pull the referee out at the last second before he can count three and nails Paige with a big left. The referee is down. Kanyon & Page are now in the ring and putting the double-team on Youngblood. They go for a double-DDT, but here comes Ernest "The Cat" Miller and he goes after Page with a big clothesline that sends DDP to the floor. Miller goes after DDP, while Youngblood manages to catch Kanyon with a Stone-Cold Stunner. Youngblood goes up to the top quickly and flies with the big elbow. Referee Tommy Young has come out and slides into the ring as Youngblood covers Kanyon, making the three count.
WINNER: MIKE YOUNGBLOOD
Youngblood tosses Kanyon to the floor as the referee raises his arm in victory. On the outside, DDP and Miller are still fighting, but referees and other WCW officials have come down to break them up. Miller is in the ring and gets on the mic as Page and Kanyon are headed up the ramp.
"Hey DDP, you wanted to start with the 'Cat'? Well, get your ass back here to the ring because I'm done with playing... The Cat is gonna beat your wrinkled old ass! DDP and Kanyon look at each other and Page walks down towards the ring - "You want me? You got it!" We see referee Tommy Young ask both men if they want a match right now? as we go to commercial.
(commercial)
We come back and DDP and Ernest Miller are already in the ring fighting. Referee Tommy Young calls for a bell. It looks as if we have an impromptu match on our hands...
DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE w/ Kanyon versus ERNEST "THE CAT" MILLER w/ Mike Youngblood
Forget about wrestling holds - it's just a brawl as Page & Miller are trying to beat the mess out of each other. We see Kanyon attempt to interfere several times, but Youngblood is there on the outside to keep him at bay and Kanyon backs off. It goes back and forth and Miller attempts to hit the Feliner kick, but gets distracted as Kanyon reaches for his foot. Kanyon gets chopped by Youngblood for his troubles, but the effort serves it's purpose as DDP moves in and takes the distracted Miller down with the "Diamond Cutter". DDP covers for the pin.
WINNER: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE
Page rolls out of the ring and celebrates with Kanyon as Youngblood checks on the stunned Miller in the ring.
A video promo airs - coming next Sunday on PPV - it's WCW Beach Blast - live from the Cox Center at San Diego, CA...

We go out back and see Scott Hall arriving at the arena, pulling his bag behind him. Dawn Marie is there and she stops Hall - she wants to ask him something. As Hall & Dawn Marie talk, we see Tully Blancard, C.W. Anderson & Charlie Haas all come up from behind and attack Scott Hall. Hall tries to fight off his attackers, but the numbers are too great and he goes down to the barrage of punches and kicks by The Horsemen. After beating Hall down, we see Tully Blancard standing over Scott and berating him for showing him up last week. Tully gives Scott a final kick to the ribs as the Horsemen walk off and WCW officials finally gather around Hall to check on him.
(commercial)
We come back and The Horsemen are in the ring - most of them anyhow. It's Tully Blancard, Charlie Haas, C.W. Anderson and Dawn Marie. What just happened to Scott Hall was a message to Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner. The Horsemen are through with the games and are not playing anymore. If it takes a beating in the parking lot, OK! If it takes a set ot brass knucks to lay someone out - OK! The Horsemen are the most dominate and elite force in WCW... period! Jarrett thought by taing out Arn Anderson that the Horsemen would crumble and fall. No way! Now, Tully is here and he knows all about walking through the fires of Hell. The Horsemen are stronger and more dangerous than ever. Tully mentions that Arn was "the voice of reason" for the Horsemen... but Tully is the "voice of vengeance"... And at Beach Blast, in the steel cage, with Tully as the guest referee, Jarrett and Steiner are going to learn first hand what it means to cross the Horsemen.
Here comes Eric Bischoff out on the ring apron. He wanted to inform the Horsemen that they will be fined for the attack on Scott Hall. Blancard doesn't look impressed and just shrugs. Eric continues... Scott has been taken to a local medical facility to be checked out, but before he left, he asked Eric to make a match. So at Beach Blast, Tully will NOT be the referee for the Horsemen / Steiner-Jarrett cage match. A WCW official will referee that match. But now, it will be a six-man match as Tully teams with Haas & Anderson to take on Steiner, Jarrett & Scott Hall. Tully gets upset and complains to Anderson & Haas as we go to commercial.

WCW TV CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT - ROUND 2
VAMPIRO versus BARRY WINDHAM
Another fast-paced match that shows both men pulling out all the stops. Vampiro uses the martial arts and several kicks to take the early control of Windham, but Barry manages to fight back with clotheslines and a suplex. Barry misses the bulldog attempt, but Vampiro is slow to cover and only gets a two from referee Hage Patel. Vampiro with a gutbuster and he signals for the "Nail In The Coffin"... Vampiro hoists Windham up, but Barry manuevers around and scores with a big DDT. Barry covers and gets the three count.
WINNER: BARRY WINDHAM
We go backstage now where Bob Caudle is standing by with Marty Jannetty, Eric Angle & GOLDBERG. Later tonight, in the main event, these three men will take on the WCW World Tag Team Champions, Hugh Morrus & Tank Abbott along with Daniel Puder. Any thoughts? Jannetty says that since Puder arrived in WCW, as Soce's bodyguard, he's been trying to make a name for himself by hurting other wrestlers - not by outwrestling them, but with sneak attacks and coming from behind. Tonight, they're all face to face and Puder has to put up or shut up! Angle calls tonight a warm up - they get to soften up the Bullies and make them tap out.. and then on next Sunday, prepare for history to be made as Angle and Jannetty become the WCW World Tag Team Champions. Goldberg is here. Puder put him out! That's fine! Revenge is sweet! And tonight is just the beginning because all of the Elementalz are going down. And guess what? They're next! Jannetty chimes in as they close out the segment, "And your little manager too!"
(commercial)
We come back now and Luna Vachon & Gangrel are in the ring. Schiavone & Zbyszko speculate as to why they're here - they don't have a match scheduled. Luna has the mic. At the PPV, she has Sable in the first ever "Diva Street Fight". She doesn't want to wait for next Sunday. She wants Sable now. Gangrel calms Luna down and takes the mic. Did Brock Lesnar enjoy the bloodbath last week? He'd better get used to it because at the PPV, in their "First Blood" match, Brock is going to bleed buckets! Gangrel promises that the "Next Big Thing" will be history after Sunday Night. Gangrel and Luna are continuing to talk the trash about Sable and Brock when we see Brock & Sable appear on the Nitrotron. Sable tells Luna that at teh PPV, she's going to learn all about the bump and grind as Sable grinds her face in the floor. Brock says that he's been listening to Gangrel and Luna talk and so far, all he's heard was crap! As a matter of fact, they're crap! Luna & Gangrel get angry at being called "crap" and challenge Sable & Brock to come to the ring. Brock says that they'll see them in the ring on Sunday. Maybe by then, they will be able to wash the smell off. Luna & Gangrel look at each other trying to figure out what Brock means by that when a load of manure drops from the ceiling and covers Luna & Gangrel. Brock is laughing on the Nitrotron as Gangrel and Luna flounder around in the manure that's now covering the ring and both of them as well. "Like I said, crap!", Brock tells Sable as we go to commercial.
(commerical)
We come back and the ring crew is still cleaning up the ring. Zbyszko makes some comments about the smell as we see a replay of Luna & Gangrel getting a "manure bath". As the cameras pan the sold-out capacity crowd, we see a figure dressed entirely in black standing up in the rafters watching the show. Zbyszko & Schiavone speculate who it is and wonder why he's there. The camera tries to zoom in for a close-up of the mysterious figure, but the figure quickly turns and vanishes back into the shadows and rafters of the United Center.
We go backstage now where Bob Caudle is standing by with The Elementalz - Soce the Elemental Wizard, Daniel Puder, Rico & The WCW World Tag Team Champions, Hugh Morrus & Tank Abbott. Soce quickly plugs his website, http://www.greathiphop.com/, and moves on to the matches for tonight. Coming up next, Rico is taking on "Dirty" Doug Gilbert in the second round of the TV Title Tournament. Gilbert might be a tough "rassler", but no good ol' boy can compete against an artist such as Rico. Rico is taking Gilbert down and moving on to the semi-finals at the PPV. And later tonight in the main event, the World Tag Team Champs and the MMA Wizard, Puder are taking out Jannetty, Eric Angle and Goldberg once and for all in the six-man tag. This match is supposed to be a warm-up for the PPV - well, Soce predicts that Goldberg, Jannetty and Angle won't make it to the PPV. They're going down and out tonight!

We go now to David Penzer...
WCW TV TITLE TOURNAMENT - ROUND 2
RICO w/ Soce the Elemental Wizard versus "DIRTY" DOUG GILBERT w/ Tommy Rich
Gilbert and Rich are talking trash before the match begins and all in Rico and Soce's face. Gilbert with a slap to Rico as Soce & Rich leave the ring and go to their spots on the outside. Rico responds with a big slap at Gilbert and a kick the stomach. More martial arts kicks as Rico takes an early command. Rich is up on the apron and complaining about the "illegal karate" in the match. Rico takes a swing at Rich, who quickly drops to the floor. Gilbert takes advantage of the distraction and levels Rico with a neckbreaker. Gilbert is getting smug now and takes down the straps as he kicks and stomps away at Rico. Gilbert signals for a piledriver, but Soce is up on the apron and distracting the referee. Rico with a low-blow to the family jewels of Gilbert. Gilbert goes down as the referee turns around. Rico with a superkick and cover for two, as Rich reaches in and puts Gilbert's leg on the ropes. The ref catches Rich and warns him of a possible DQ for Gilbert and to keep away from the ring. Rico sets up Gilbert rolls him up with an inside cradle. Gilbert gets a hand on the ropes, but Soce knocks the hand away and referee Russ Cherico counts the pin.
WINNER: RICO w/ Soce

Bob Caudle is backstage with Booker T & Sharmell. Everyone heard Eric Bischoff's announcement earlier - at the PPV, it's a triple-threat match for the WCW World Championship with the champ, Sean O'Haire taking on Booker T & "The Total Package" Lex Luger. Booker smiles and says that opportunity has smiled upon him again. It's his destiny to become a six-time WCW Champion and O'Haire has been lucky so far. But come Sunday, the luck runs out and Booker T & Sharmell are bringing home the gold. Booker & Sharnell walk off and we see a dark figure walk quickly by, behind Caudle. Caudle tries to stop the man for a quick interview, but the person quickly moves away and vanishes. Caudle speculates as to why this person doesn't want to be interviewed and sends it back to ringside.
Schiavone & Zbyszko speculate a bit over the mystery man's strange behavior and then it time for action as we go back to Penzer again for the next match...
ANTONIO & ROMEO - THE HEART THROBS versus CHRIS CHETTI & SHAWN STASIAK w/ Christy Hemme
Basic tag team match that see's more primping and posing by both teams rather than actual wrestling. Antonio & Romeo get the advantage with a double-team on Chetti and work him over in their corner for quite a bit. Chetti fights back with elbows and a jawbreaker on Romeo before leaping to his corner for the hot tag to Stasiak. Shawn with clotheslines and slams for both Heart Throb members. Shawn attempts a Perfect-Plex on Romeo, but Antonio is there to break up the pin attempt. Hemme is up on the arpon and distracts The Heart Throbs with a shake of her booty and teases a flash to the wrestlers, but backs off as Chetti nails Romeo with a missle-dropkick from out of nowhere. Chetti covers and gets the pin.
WINNERS: CHRIS CHETTI & SHAWN STASIAK w/ Christy Hemme
(commercial)
We go backstage again where Bob Caudle is standing by with "The Total Package" Lex Luger. Caudle asks Lex about the mysterious figure up in the rafters. Can it be Sting? Lex says he hasn't even talked to Sting in several days and doesn't know if he's here or not. Sting didn't mention anything about coming to Chicago. But that's Sting's business - he does what he does for a reason. Lex wants to talk about two things - Hulk Hogan and the WCW World Championship. First of all, last week Lex did not turn on Hulk Hogan. Lex told Hulk that he'd be his partner and he was. Lex had to save Hogan's son from getting into trouble and Hogan dropped the ball... again. Luger thinks it's time for Hogan to just retire and call it quits. He's a shadow of what he was.. or maybe the truth has come out. WIthout the politics and "creative control" to protect him, people are now seeing the "real Hogan"... Lex says that Hulk had better hope that The Giant has mercy on him Sunday night and ends the match quickly, because Nick needs a real role model - like Eric Bischoff, like The Giant, like Lex Luger.... and not some beaten down old con-man like Hogan. But if Hogan manages to steal a win and somehow get past the Giant, he has Luger to face next Monday and Lex won't be so nice. As for the Triple-Threat match - Lex has only 5 words to say - "Total Package - World Champion... again!" Lex smiles and walks off as Caudle sends it back to ringside.
Back to Dave Penzer...
MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
IVORY & JUVENTUD GUERRERA versus TERRI RUNNELS & JEFF HARDY
Ivory and Terri start off and Ivory is quick with a slap to Terri's face. Ivory is all smiles, but that quickly changes as Terri spears Ivory and begins slamming her head into the mat. Juvi is in and pulls Terri off of Ivory - Hardy comes in and scores on Juvi with clotheslines, sending Juvi to the floor. Hardy flies with an over-the-top moonsault that catches Juvi on the outside. In the ring, Terri is punching away at Ivory, but Ivory levels Terri with a kick to the stomach and a neckbreaker. Bulldog by Ivory and she picks up the pin.
Winner: IVORY & JUVENTUD GUERRERA
Juvi and Hardy are still fighting on the floor and the chops and punches are flowing freely now. We see Ivory with a steel chair as she swings at Jeff Hardy. Hardy ducks and the chairshot nails Juvi. Jeff jerks the chair away from Ivory, who quickly scurries away. Jeff takes the chair and nails Juvi again across the top of the head, laying out the Cruiserweight Champion. Jeff drops the chair and rolls into the ring to check on Terri as Ivory comes around to help up Juvi and help him to the back.
WINNERS: IVORY & JUVENTUD GUERRERA
We go backstage agan and see Soce rallying the troops. The six-man tag match is next. Puder promises Soce that bones are going to snap when he gets into the ring. Soce reminds him to make sure that no one gets too close to him. Abbott wraps an arm around Soce and says that he has nothing to worry about. No one touches the hip-hop spellcaster while they're around. Morrus interjects that for Goldberg, Jannetty & Angle, tonight will be "No Laughing Matter". Team Elementalz share a big laugh as they're joined by Rico.. and they're headed towards the ring.
(commercial)
We come back and Schiavone & Zbyszko do one last plug for the PPV, WCW Beach Blast, coming up on Sunday night. The matches signed so far include: MMA MATCH - Goldberg versus Daniel Puder, WCW Tag Team Champions Tank Abbott & Hugh Morrus defend against Marty Jannetty & Eric Angle. In the semi-finals of the WCW TV Title tournament, Evan Karagias takes on Barry Windham & Mike Youngblood takes on Rico. In the first ever "Diva Street Fight", it's Sable versus Luna Vachon. Gangrel takes on Brock Lesnar in a "First Blood Match". In the steel cage, it's the Horsemen, Tully Blancard, Charlie Haas & C.W. Anderson w/ Dawn Marie versus Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner & Scott Hall. And added tonight, it's Hulk Hogan versus The Giant - and if Giant wins, Eric Bischoff gets custody of Nick Hogan for 30 days. Plus the main event as WCW World Champion Sean O'Haire defends against "The Total Package" Lex Luger & Booker T. Possibly one of the biggest shows in the history of WCW PPV. After running down the matches, Schiavone & Zbyszko send it over to David Penzer who does the introductions for the main event.
TANK ABBOTT, HUGH MORRUS & DANIEL PUDER w/ Soce the Elemental Wizard & Rico
versus
ERIC ANGLE, MARTY JANNETTY & GOLDBERG
It all breaks loose as referee Brent Robinson calls for the bell. Abbott pounds away at Jannetty with some clubbering lefts before tagging off to Morrus. Morrus keeps control, but Jannetty manages to leapfrog a backdrop attempt and score with a dropkick. Angle is tagged in and goes immediately after the ankle of Morrus, but Hugh manages to get away and tag in Puder. Puder scores with several takedowns of Angle and then tosses Janneety as he climbs into the ring. Goldberg tags himself in and it's another story as Puder backs off and tags in Tank. Tank and Goldberg are trading fists and we see Goldberg hit the slam. Spear by Goldberg and it looks like he's going for the jackhammer. Rico is in with a chair and nails Goldberg across the back. The ref calls for the bell and the DQ.
WINNERS by DQ: ERIC ANGLE, MARTY JANNETTY & GOLDBERG
As Rico slams the chair across Goldberg's back, we see Goldberg smile and turn around. Spear on Rico. Abbott & Morrus are in quickly, but get caught by double-dropkicks by Jannetty and Angle and sent sprawling to the floor. Puder is in and goes nose to nose with Goldberg. The fists are flying. Meanwhile, we see Eric Angle drop to the floor and go after Soce, chasing him around the ring. Goldberg nails Puder and he goes outside the ring to the floor. Meanwhile, soce is running from Angle and goes through the ring, running into the back of Goldberg. Goldberg turns around and smiles, grabbing Soce by the neck. Jannetty and Angle keep the Elementalz from entering the ring to protect their leader while Goldberg is talking trash to Soce and forces him to his knees. Soce is pleading and begging now for mercy from Goldberg. Goldberg picks up Soce and gorilla-presses him over his head before tossing him over the ropes and into the arms of Morrus, Abbott, Rico & Puder who are at ringside. The Elementalz help their manager to the back as we see a close up of Goldberg, Jannetty & Angle in the ring watching.
We're out of time and fade to black....
THE END!!!
