WCW Monday Nitro (June 12, 2006)

WCW Monday Nitro
June 12, 2006
Long Beach, CA
Long Beach Convention Center

Lots of pyro as WCW Monday Nitro comes on the air.  We immediateyl go to ringside where Tony Schiavone welcomes the TV audience and introduces his two new announce partners to the fans who may have missed the Bash at the Beach PPV last night, it's "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko and "The Total Package" Lex Luger...
Tony, Lex & Larry talk about some of the happenings at the PPV last night when the sounds of music fill the arena.  Here comes the WCW World Champion, Sean O'Haire, along with C.W. Anderson, Charlie Haas & Dawn Marie - The Horsemen.

O'Haire gets the mic.  There's a lot to cover for tonight.  He updates the fans on the condition of "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, who was injured last night at the PPV.  We go to footage from the "Last Man Standing" match and see Jeff Jarrett piledrive Arn into the mat.  O'Haire says that with Arn's history of neck problems, that was a crippling blow for "The Enforcer".  But Sean assures the fans that Arn will be back!  And then Sean looks into the camera and sends a shout-out to Arn that he doesn't have to worry about the fate of the Horsemen.  Sean, the WCW World Champion, will take over and be the leader of the group until Arn is ready to return.  Changing subjects, Sean mentions the challenge made to him at the end of last night's PPV by the Cruiserweight Champion, Jeff Hardy.  If Hardy wants a shot at the title, he's got it!  They'll do it tonight in the main event.

Haas gets the mic next.  Later tonight, he and C.W. have Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner in a tag match. This one won't be about winning and losing - it will be about paybacks. For the injuries to Woman and the injuries to Arn. Jarrett has written a check his ass can't cash and it's time to pay the balance.  C.W. just looks directly into the camera and says "An eye for an eye!".  Back to O'Haire who closes the segment by telling everyone that if they thought the Horsemen were dangerous before, they haven't seen anything yet!  The three men and Dawn Marie all flash the four-finger symbol as we go backstage.

We go backstage and see"Your New Addiction" Krazy K warming up.  He's in action... next!

We go to David Penzer for the first match..

"YOUR NEW ADDICTION" KRAZY K versus MIKE YOUNGBLOOD

A quick handshake at the start as a sign of respect and we see the men exchange takedowns and Kirby scores with a dropkick that sends Youngblood to the floor.  Suicide dive by Krazy-K drives Youngblood into the fan barrier and both men are down.  Kirby is the first up and tries to run Youngblood's head into the ringpost, but Youngblood blocks and Krazy-K eats steel.  Youngblood rolls into the ring to break the count by referee Hage Patel and rolls back out to deliver a series of chops to Kirby's chest.  Kibdy fights back and scores with an enzaguri on the floor.  Youngblood falls forward and his head smacks across the ring apron.  Both men roll back into the ring and Krazy K scores with a spinkick for two.  A hard whip into the corner by Kirby.  He charges in and Youngblood ducks down, grabbing the legs and rolling Kirby up.  Youngblood has both feet on the ropes for leverage, but the referee doesn't see and makes the three count.
Winner:  MIKE YOUNGBLOOD

We go backstage where we see WCW Owner Eric Bischoff talking on his phone.  WCW Executive Director Cyrus is here and he wants to speak with Eric.  Eric asks him what he wants?  Cyrus wants to know that since he did his sentence last night at the PPV, wrestling Gertner, is all cool now?  Is he stil the WCW Executive Director?   Eric tells Cyrus to come with him to the ring... right now!

We come back and Eric Bischoff and Cyrus are in the ring.  Eric has the mic.  He has a big match to announce for later tonight.  Plus, he has something to say to his Executive Director.  Last night at the PPV, Hulk Hogan was destroyed by "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar. As a reward for his efforts, next week on Nitro, Brock Lesnar will face the WCW World Champion in a title match.  It doesn't matter who wins betwen Hardy and O'Haire later tonight.  The winner faces Lesnar next week.

"Real American" fills the arena as we see Hulk Hogan, accompanied by son Nick Hogan, comes down to the ring.  Hogan gets in Eric's face.  He doesn't give a damn about the match last night.  Brock and Sable laid their hands on his son, Nick.. and he wants to know what the hell Bischoff is going to do about it!  Eric just smiles and says that he watched the match, just like millions of fans, and Nick grabbed Sable first.  If Nick had stayed in the back where he belonged, he wouldn't have been beaten up by a woman.  So Eric was thinking about pressing charges against Nick for asaulting one of his wrestlers, but decided that watching Nick get beaten up by Sable was punishment enough.  Hogan starts to say something, but Nick grabs the mic.  He tells Eric that maybe he did get his butt whipped by a woman, but he was out there for his dad.  Bischoff is supposed to be Hogan's friend and all he's done is screw around with him over and over.  Nick calls Bischoff a sorry, piece of crap, lying S.O.B.

Eric listens to Nick and smiles.  He might be all of that, but he's also his dad's boss.  He owns WCW and owns Hogan.  He has a contract with Hogan's name on it, and if Hulk doesn't do what he says, he'll have so many lawsuits against him, he'll spend  the rest of his life tied up in a courtroom.  So later tonight, Hogan will have a match..against Booker T.  And just to keep Nick from interfering again, he'll be handcuffed to Sharmell at ringside.

Hogan gets in Eric's face and says that he'll wrestle the match.  But Nick won't be a part of it.  And Eric doesn't own Hogan.  Hogan grabs Eric by the shirt and rears back as if to hit Eric.

Cyrus, who's been watching this whole scene unfold from the corner charges into Hogan and takes a few shots.  Hogan fights back and levels Cyrus with a few punches.  Here comes Joel Gertner and "The Giant" Paul Wight, who made his WCW debut last night at the PPV,  to the ring. As Gertner directs traffic, we see Wight grabs Hogan by the throat.  Big chokeslam by Wight as he slams Hogan down hard into the mat.  NIck tries to get out of the ring, but he's grabbed by Gertner.  Eric gets in NIck's face and talks trash before pie-facing him to the mat next to his father. Eric and The Giant hug as Joel Gertner looks on approvingly.  Joel and Wight starts to leave the ring, but Eric stops them.  He looks at Cyrus, who have moved back into the corner of the ring.

"Cyrus, you wanted to know if you still have a job as my Executive Director?  Well, you tried to help me tonight, so the answer is... ", says Eric.  Eric smiles and opens his arms to embrace Cyrus in a hug.  The worried expression on the face of Cyrus fades and turns into a smile as he moves towards Bischoff.  Eric hugs Cyrus and then says, into the mic, "The answer is... you're FIRED!"  Eric pushes Cyrus away.  The Giant grabs Cyrus and slams him hard into the mat with a big chokeslam!  Gertner, The Giant and Eric are all smiles as they leave the ring and the fallen bodies of Hulk, Nick and Cyrus laying in the ring.

We go to David Penzer for the next match.

ETHAN STORM versus EVAN KARAGIAS w/ Jimmy "The Boogie Woogie Man" Valiant

Storm smarts off to Valiant as he locks up with Karagias.  Arm-drag by Karagias and Storm flies across the ring.  Storm calls for a time out, but the only reply from Evan is another armdrag and a big dropkick.  Karagais is in charge, but that ends when Ethan manages to plant a knee into his guts.  Fists by Storm and a big slam.  A big knee and Ethan gets two.  More fists by Storm and he levels Karagias with a big suplex.  Rather than cover, Ethan rolls to the floor and gets into a verbal confrontation with Jimmy Valiant.  A shove by Storm, but referee Russ Cherico is there to prevent Valiant from going after Storm in retaliation.  Ethan is back in the ring and picks up Karagias for a Spicolli-Driver, but Karagias kicks and slides out of the hold, scoring on Ethan with a neckbreaker.  Karagias goes quickly to the top rope and attempts a cross-body, but Storm is on the ball and swats him away.  Ethan goes to the corner and digs into his tights, loading his fist with a set of brass knucks.  From outside the ring, we see Jimmy Valiant up and he grabs Storm's arm, causing the knucks to fall to the mat before Storm can use them.  The ref sees this and kicks the knucks to the floor.  While the ref is doing this, we see Jimmy Valiant, with a set of knucks of his own, nailing Storm across the skull with a loaded fist.  Storm is down as the referee turns around. Karagias crawls over and covers as referee Cherico counts three.
Winner:  EVAN KARAGIAS w/ Jimmy Valiant

Backstage we see Alex Wright and Disco Inferno.  They're complaining to each other about their loss to the World Tag Team Champions, Hugh Morrus and Tank Abbott last night at the PPV.  We hear a laugh and see Rob Conway and Mike Sanders.  They're laughing at Alex and Disco and call them losers.  Disco asks how many PPV spots have they had recently?  Words are exchanged between the four men and Sanders tells Disco and Alex if they have the guts, they can face him and Conway in the ring.  Alex accepts the challenge and we hear Sanders tell him and Disco that it looks like they're S.O.L.  And Conway smirks as he adds, "And you know what that means!"

Bob Caudle is standing by now with the NEW WCW Womens Champion, Ivory and Juventud Guerrera.  Ivory is talking a million miles a second as only she can do..She's happy to be champion again.  April Hunter will not get the title back.  Buff is a really weird guy!  And she partied all last night with her new amigo, Juvi who is goiing to kivk Buff Bagwell's butt tonight.  Juvi talks and says that Buff doesn't want to mess with "The Juice", but he started something last night he can't finish.  The Juice is loose and Juvi plans to kick Buff's keister!

We see a video promo - someone call his mama:  Coming back to WCW very soon is Ernest "The Cat" Miller...

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
TANK ABBOTT & HUGH MORRUS (c) with Rico
versus
COLT CABANA & LODI

Schiavone explains that Rico is with the champs because their manager, Soce is with Daniel Puder, getting ready for another open challenge later tonight.  Lodi starts off at the bell attacking Tank with fists and punches.  But he quickly learns that you don't try to slug it out with Tank Abbott as Tank unleases a series of fists and a big slam.  Morrus tagged in and another slam.  Hugh misses an elbow and Loid manages to tag Colt Cabana.  Colt kicks away at Hugh and catches him with a leg lariat for two.  Fists by Cabana and a tag to Lodi so they can doubleteam Morrus in the corner.  Lodi with a slam and he goes up to the top to continue his attack, but Abbott enters the ring to distract the referee and Colt.  As Lodi climbs up, Rico is up on the apron and delivers a martial arts kick to the head of Lodi, knocking him to the mat. Morrus crawls over and covers Lodi and the referee, Brent Robinson, makes the three count.
Winners:  HUGH MORRUS & TANK ABBOTT w/ Rico

Backstage we see Hulk Hogan talking to his son, Nick. All Nick has to do is say the word and they're out of there.  Hogan doesn't like Nick getting that involved in the action and knows that Linda is going to be very upset.  Nick tells his dad that he's been training with Hulk and Brian Knobbs for a while and he'll be OK.  He tells his dad to just do what he has to do tonight with Booker T and take care of business. Hogan and Nick share a warm father-son embrace, but that breaks up quickly as Booker T & Sharmell walk into the room.

Booker tells Hogan to be cool!  He doesn't have anything against Hogan and he just wants Hulk to know that everything is cool.  They have a match later.  Bischoff ordered the match and they can't do anything about that.  But Booker and Sharmell are not going to mess with a kid.  If Nick has to be out there, so be it, but he's safe with Sharmell.  Sharmell tells Hulk that she'll look after Nick at ringside like he's one of her own while Hulk and Booker take care of business.  Hogan and Booker shake hands as Sharmell puts her arm around Nick.

We go back to the ring.  The sounds of "I'm That" fill the arena as Soce the Elemental Wizard comes to the ring.  Soce is all smiles as he plugs his website (http://www.greathiphop.com/) and tosses copies of his CD, "The Lemonade Incident" to fans in the first couple of rows at ringside.  Soce gets on the mic and introduces the most dominant MMA fighter in WCW history, the one and only "H but H" hardcore phenom, Daniel Puder.

Puder gets a mixed reaction from the crowd as he comes to the ring.  He's wearing his "I Hurt Kurt - He Whined" sweatshirt.  Soce & Puder hug as we go to a commercial break.

(commercial)

We come back and Soce has the mic.  Before we start this challenge, Soce reminds Puder about the sweatshirt. Puder smiles as Soce reminds him that they don't want any lawsuits. Puder removes the sweatshirt and tosses it to the crowd. Now, he's wearing his t-shirt that says "I Hurt Goldberg - Who's Next!"  Soce and Puder share another laugh about this as we go to a video package that shows Puder locking Bill Goldberg in the kimura keylock and making him tap before breaking his arm. It also shows Puder attacking Marty Jannetty and locking his arm up, injuring Jannetty as well, before finally ending with last night at the PPV as Puder makes Shawn Stasiak tap before being attacked by Jannetty again.  The results were the same though as Jannetty was forced to tap and his arm was further injured.

Puder is all smiles as he talks about the injuries to Jannetty and Goldberg.  They made the mistake of messing with his manager, Soce... and they ended up paying the price.  And anyone who crosses Soce will get the same.  Soce asks Puder why he didn't send Shawn Stasiak to the hospital last night?  Puder replies that he noticed how Soce was checking out Stasiak and decided to give him a break. Soce laughs and says that Stasiak is kind of hot!  Puder gets the mic and says that it's time for his open challenge.  Who's next? Anyone from the lockerroon who wants to try their luck with Puder can come on out.

The camera pans the ramp and shows that no one has accepted as of yet!  Puder gets on th mic again and says that he knew that there were a lot of gutless wonders back there, but thought that someone would have the courage to accept his challenge.  We hear some very familiar music echo throughout the arena as we see a bald headed figure wearing red, white and blue appears on the rampway as pyro and fireworks go off.  Luger asks Schiavone if that's who he thinks it is. The crowd starts the chant "You Suck" but something is different.  Soce is hiding behind Puder as the smoke from the pyro clear and we see Eric Angle standing there.   He has a mic.

Eric says that Puder has been spreading that story about his brother all over the world, but he knows that it's all a lie.  Eric's brother beat Puder and made him his bitch. It's true! It's true!  And now, another Angle, Eric Angle, is here to set the record straight!    Puder tells Eric to bring it.. and we see Eric charge the ring almost immediately, we see Angle and Puder exchanging blows.  Angle seems to be getting the best of Puder and gets him up for an Angle-Slam.  The straps come down as Eric Angle goes after the leg of Puder and attempts to slap on the ankle lock.  Soce, who's still in the ring, nails Angle with a shot to the back that has absolutely no effect.  Angle turns and sees Soce there.  He grabs Soce and here comes Rico, Hugh Morrus and Tank Abbott from the back.  They quickly attack Angle and start beating him down.  Puder is back up and as Morrus & Tank hold Angle, Puder slaps him a few times and then applies the kimura keylock on the arm.  Angle is screaming in pain and trying to escape, but Puder has it locked in.  Finally, Puder releases the hold as Angle passes out on the mat.  Soce, Rico, Puder, Abbott & Morrus all celebrate and hug in the ring as the referees roll Angle's body to the outside to help him to the back.

Back to David Penzer for the next match.

ROB CONWAY & "ABOVE AVERAGE" MIKE SANDERS versus DISCO INFERNO & ALEX WRIGHT

Lots of fists are flying right from the start as referee Brent Robinson has a hard time keeping control.  We see Disco and Alex with the double-teaming on Conway in their corner.  Rob manages to escape with a thumb to the eyes and hot tags in Sanders.  Sanders with punches and kicks to Alex and a big slam.  Sanders misses a clothesline and gets nailed by a dropkick by Wright.  Wright covers for two, but it gets broken up as Conway makes the save.  Disco comes in now too and all four men are brawling in the ring.  The referee is trying to restore order, but gets caught by a back-elbow by Disco and goes down.  He tries to pull himself up, but gets hit by a shoulder tackle from Rob Conway. The ref rolls / falls out of the ring and calls for the bell.  He's throwing this match out.
DOUBLE-DISQUALIFICATION

We see referees and agents pile from the back to seperate the two teams as we go to commercial.

We come back and backstage, we see Conway and Sanders still trying to get at Disco and Alex as referees and security attempt to keep them apart. Eric Bischoff hears the ruckus and comes out of his office.  Next week, there will be a rematch between the two teams and it's NO DQ.  Now get the hell away from his office.

As Eric watches the wrestlers leave, Terri Runnels approaches Eric. She has a question for Eric. There's a rumor backstage that Marty Jannetty might be stripped of the WCW World TV Title?  Is it true!  Eric turns to Terri and says that he hates backstage gossip.  But yes - it is true!  Marty Jannetty is the WCW World TV Champion.  Last night at the Bash At The Beach, he decided to attack Daniel Puder and as a result, his already injured left arm was further injured.  Jannety had surgery this morning and will be out of action indefinitely.  Eric was going to wait until next week for this announcement, but starting next week, there will be a tournament to determine a new WCW Television Champion.  Terri asks who will be competing in the tournament and if Eric has any more information to share. Eric smiles and says wait until next week.

We go to Schiavone, Zbyszko and Luger who talk about the TV title and champion Marty Jannetty being stripped of the title.  Luger mentions that he's a former 2-time TV Champion himself and wouldn't mind being in the tournament.  Zbyszko mentions that he's a former champion also, but has no desire to climb back in that ring and go through the pain and agony of wrestling again.  He prefers to do his fighting these days on the golf course and reminds Luger that they have a 8:30am tee-time on the morning.  Schiavone moves the conversation back to wrestling as we go to video from the PPV last night that shows Buff's interference backfiring as he was attacked by Juvi during the Womens Championship match and ended up costing April Hunter the WCW Womens Championship.

And now to David Penzer...

BUFF BAGWELL w/ April Hunter versus JUVENTUD GUERRERA w/ Ivory

Buff and Juvi lock up as the two ladies in their corners cheer them on. Juvi starts off fast with several armdrags and a big dropkick that sends Bagwell rolling to the floor, where he's quickly consoled by April Hunter and a big hug.  Buff climbs back into the ring as Juvi plays to the crowd.  Buff connects with a knee and clubs away at Juvi before slamming him hard to the mat.  Buff locks in a chinlock as we see Ivory trying to rally the fans behind Juvi.  Juvi is up and scores with a jawbreaker to escape and levels Buff with a dropkick. Juvi-Driver by "The Juice" and he goes up to the top rope!  April Hunter is up on the apron and shoves Juvi off the top to the mat.  Buff is up and stomps away at Juvi before going to the far corner to climb up to the top.  Buff prepares to launch himself with the Buff-Buster, but Ivory is there to grab his leg.  April comes over and grabs Ivory, pulling her down and we have a catfight on the outside of the ring.  Buff is watching this for a moment and then resumes his climb to the top. Juvi is up and catches Buff with a hurracarana for the pin as referee Hage Patel makes the count.  April tries to get into the rng, but she's stopped by Ivory and it's too late.

Ivory and Juvi celebrate in the ring as April and Buff head back to the locker rooms.

We see Sean O'Haire in the back on the phone.  He hangs up and turns to C.W. Anderson, Charlie Haas and Dawn Marie.  That was Arn Anderson and he'll be here next week.  He said to kick Jarrett's and Steiner's asses.  Haas, Anderson and Dawn Marie are headed towards the ring.

C.W. ANDERSON & CHARLIE HAAS w/ Dawn Marie - THE HORSEMEN
versus
JEFF JARRETT & SCOTT STEINER

Anderson starts off with Jarrett and immediately takes him down to the mat and slams a hard fist into the back of Jarrett's head.  A quick tag to Haas as the referee,  Parker Paige, warns the Horsemen about the fists. Jeff rolls to the floor to regroup.  Haas follows, but Jeff catches him with a knee and slams Haas hard into the steps.  Jarrett rolls Haas back into the ring and covers for two.  Tag to Steiner who just pounds away on Haas and delivers a bone-crushing suplex and covers for two.  Steiner tags off to Jeff who continues the attack.  Haas backs Jarrett into the corner and the referee makes Haas back up.  We see Dawn Marie up and she claws at Jarrett's eyes from outside the ring.  Jarrett is blinded as Haas manages to tag Anderson who lays into Jarrett with several knees and a suplex  More fists and a big spinebuster by C.W. for two, as Steiner gets in to break things up.  Haas comes back in and we have all four men brawling in the ring.  Jarrett goes flying over the ropes and to the floor, courtesty of Charlie Haas.  Steiner quickly follows as he's clotheslined by C.W. Hogan is reluctant, but says OK.  A quick handshake by Booker and Hulk and they lock up.  Hogan with an armdrag on Booker.  Booker is shocked and applaudes Hogan.  Another lockup and we see Hogan with another armdrag. Booker just smiles and they lock up a thrid time.  Knee by Booker and some chops to the chest.  Hogan no-sells the chops and slams Booker to the mat.  Booker backs off to the corner and kind of nods.  OK!  Another lock up and Booker uses the chops.  Hogan with the fists  and the tempers starts to flare a bit.  Booker goes to the eyes and catches Hulk with a knee to the gut.  Slam by Booker and a cover for two.  Spinning heel kick by Booker and Hogan goes through the ropes and to the floor as we take a commercial break.
